Pilgrim UCC celebrates 180 years!

 

About our Historical Lantern Tours:

 

The "original" Lantern Tour was hosted by members of the congregation on October 2, 2005 in recognition of our 171st anniversary.  Both the congregation and the building have many historical ties to the founding of the City of Cuyahoga Falls and since this first tour, many schools and other groups have requested and scheduled tours throughout the year.  

 

The sharing of our first Lantern Tour, complete with costumed characters representing historical figures, inspired what is now a bi-annual tradition.  We celebrate our history but even as time marches on, we recognize the very real relevance of faith in the lives of  people today.  A community of faith rejoices, loves, works towards justice, and mourns together.  One does not have to face the struggles of life alone.

 

We are currently in the organizational stages of this project and casting has begun.  Since 2009, we have praticed 'open casting' in our Lantern Tour productions.  Though the requirements are not as intense as a "traditional" theater production, there are a few.

 

The performance date for Lantern Tour 2014~180 Years of Faith is Sunday, October 5th, 2014.  In addition to the actual performance dates, there are two  required rehearsals.  If your interested in participating as a cast member is this years' Lantern Tour production, please contact the Director at act.it.up.theater@gmail.com.
